    Down's Syndrome

    Friday, June 20, 2008, 05:16 PM [General]

I saw my first Down's Syndrome patient yesterday aware both that there are many hypnotherapy FAQs which state a requirement for an IQ of 70 or thereabouts to be hypnotizable, and also that people with Down's Syndrome have an IQ of 30-80.

There is no literature on the subject so I'm happy to report that my patient was a fine hypnotee. She wasn't just relaxed, but genuinely and beautifully hypnotized.

Although I was reticent about taking her on as a patient to begin with (because I had no experience of trying to hypnotize someone with DS and did not know if it was possible) I would accept another DS patient tomorrow without hesitation.

So if your FAQs mention a qualifying IQ, please rewrite them.

    Best wishes
